2007 Awards Ceremony: Paul Shires Since 1999 the group have set up an annual countryside award for a police officer who has shown outstanding commitment and dedication to working in the rural communities of Staffordshire. The purpose of the award is to keep the police force engaged with wildlife and rural crimes at a time when there are growing pressures on resources from many directions.

In 2004 a new award was introduced. This is for a member of the public, or a group or organization, that has made a significant contribution to preserving wildlife or the environment. As well as the main award, commendations may be issued to other nominations received in the same year.

We invite members of the rural communities and the police force to send in nominations that will go before a committee to select the winners. There is an annual Award Evening where presentations are made.
