Crimewatch Introduction
Staffordshire is a rural county and as such is rich in wildlife. Most people enjoy our countryside and all it has to offer.
We have over:
- 260 different species of birds,
- 50 species of mammals,
- 2,000 wild plants, trees and insects,
- 4 different species of reptiles,
- 6 different species of amphibians.
All are protected by Wildlife Laws
The Rural Policing Liaison Group works closely with the Staffordshire Police, RSPCA Inspectors, RSPCA Special Operations Unit, and other agencies. We are in the front line of enforcing wildlife legislation within the county.
