RPLG 2007 countryside awards
The main award was presented to Paul Shires. This award reflects Paul's long-term involvement with wildlife in Staffordshire. Paul works at the Park Hall country park in Stoke-on-Trent.
The police award for 2007 was presented to PC Steve Howells. PC Howells worked for considerable time to investigate the poisonning of raptors at Weston Park. Often working alone, PC Howells traced the source of the poisons in the environment, and brought the offender to court.
