A local benefactor has given the group access to Ferna Wood. The wood is a home to many species of mammals and birdlife. Initially, the woods will be preserved as a haven for the inhabitants.
The group have started to develop the wood. Streams have been
ponds dug out, and undergrowth cleared. Bridges have beed repaired or
replaced and paths improved.
It is hoped that the woods can be developed as an educational resource. In the future, children will be taught about the natural world, and taken to see wildlife in situ.
